Poetry is a Mistress

The sun going down

Moving to far off places to

Start new tomorrows

Poetry is prose

Poetry is prose

Love

Unexpectedly

It will fall into your lap

It’s funny like that

Sunset breezes and

Wandering moments make for

A perfect evening

Break away silence

And let freedom find your voice

It’s your time to shine

Have You Found

Have you found the light

Have you found what you’re looking for

Keep on running from your demons

That stay inside of you

Your troubles will always follow

Your footsteps unless you find

A way in your heart to leave behind

All the things you have said

All the things you have done

To hurt the ones you love

Let go of the tug of war

That’s bind to your feet

Free the bird you keep locked away

Now’s the time to make it

All worth while and say goodbye

To yesterday’s ghosts

Enough said!!

Enough said!!

Midnight kisses you

Ever so softly, your skin

Like velvet dew drops

Written for a friend

Trying to stay alive

Since you left me behind

My heart ripped in two

Nights are long

And days become torn

Nothing seems to

Fall into place

Time slips away

And I lose gravity

Nothing is such a waste

When you have an

Empty space

Being dead to you

Is the only thing

That keeps me

Pushed down

I need you now

I need you now

I need you

I need

(C) Shannon Lynette, 2012

I can’t be without

You in my morning daydreams

I’ll find you again
